How to enjoy Valentine’s Day when you’re single.

February 14th. A day often dreaded, but really it shouldn’t be. If you’re in a relationship or not, the big V- day should be a time to celebrate love in whatever form you want, not to dwell on what could or should have been. Now, although the sentiment can get a bit boring when we hear it so many times, over and over again, but loving yourself is actually super important. So, rather than just thinking that choosing to love yourself is super lame, this year why not actually do it and treat yourself and your loved ones (or just you!) to something a little different this year.

Bath isn’t exactly the biggest or wildest city in the world, but it does offer some fun activities for you to do this Valentine’s. So, how about treating yourself to a manicure or a facial – Natalie Smith’s Hairdressing do fantastic deals (gel nails for £15) and leave you feeling great. Or, if you can hold out, grab some friends and take the Harry Potter Quiz at the Brew House on the 26thFeb from 7pm. Another great option is to head to Tivoli cinema – try 1917 or Bombshell for a hard-hitting but super empowering watch, and grab a fancy drink and snack whilst you’re there! Bath even have a Beyoncé dance and wine class which you can book on ‘’ if you fancy burning some calories and busting some moves for female empowerment this Valentine’s.

There’s also plenty of cheap things you can do as well, so you don’t have to break the bank to share the love this Valentine’s, such as having a cheese and wine night with friends, or grabbing some board games or a movie marathon to enjoy together. Netflix just added the Taylor Swift movie and that will make you feel like a superhero I promise. Also, Amazon Prime now have all the old classics, including Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, as well as Wildchild & She’s the Man – the perfect way to spend Valentine’s this year. Getting outside into the fresh air is always a good shout – maybe try and complete the Skyline walk or try a Yoga class at The Hive near the river – your first class is £5! Whatever you chose to do, make sure you take the time to reflect on how well you’re doing in everything, and that you don’t need a partner to have fun this Valentine’s. Look after yourself and although it’s cringe, love yourself this February 14th.
