Live Programme – BUCS Super Rugby Anniversary Game

Team Bath’s men’s 1st rugby team will face off against Leeds Beckett in today’s BUCS Super Rugby Anniversary game at the Rec. The game will kick off at 6:30, with gates opening at 5:30. Entrance is free so if you’re stuck for things to do tonight pop down! With over 5,000 students expected this is set to be a lively event.

Team Bath are coming into this game after winning their last on the 10th of October against Nottingham with a 41-36 victory. This high scoring game included a hat-trick of tries from captain Tom Doughty in the first half. Team Bath’s strong performance is reassuring for tonight’s game.

With the Leeds Beckett team beating Hartpury University by 9 points on the same date, tonight’s match is set to be a close one.

18:07 – The team will be celebrating after the match with a post match meal at the Rec, then progress to Canon for their social and will end their evening up at SCORE, The SU Bath’s Wednesday Club Night.

18:02 – Tom Doughty was asked by CampusTV Bath, What he does the night before a match? Tom said “I have to have a certain amount of sweet potato the night before, I have to ensure I do my boots up in a certain way and tape up my wrists before the match too”.

18:00 – Tom Doughty, Captain at the University of Bath, “We are all really excited to be here, especially as not all games are hosted here at the Rec”.

17:57 – Aaron, Head of Rugby at the University of Bath, “The team are buzzed to be here, we won 7 tries last week and the team are looking to do the same today, especially as the weather is perfect for it”
