Man arrested on suspicion of serious sexual assault on campus

Last night, a case of ‘serious sexual assault’ was reported on campus in the early hours of the morning.

Although few details are known, police were reported searching the Quads this morning with intention of arresting the 22-year-old accused of the assault.

A spokesperson for the Avon and Somerset police stated:

‘We were called to reports of a serious sexual assault at around 4:50am today (30/04) at University of Bath Campus. A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this incident. We are treating this as an isolated incident and the victim is being fully supported and looked after by specialist officers. We’re liaising closely with the university.’

Update – A spokesperson from Avon and Somerset police stated  that the 22-year-old man “arrested has been released without charge”
